SASSA Clients Left High and Not-So-Dry

Early Morning Queues & Unfavorable Conditions

Clients at the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Kwa-Thema are facing significant challenges as they strive to access the agency's services. The situation has led to clients forming queues as early as 4 am, all in a bid to secure a spot among the first to be served.

Despite having a fully furnished waiting area, pensioners and other clients are compelled to wait outside, enduring harsh weather conditions such as scorching heat and rain.

Limited Slots & Disappointment

When Scrolla.Africa conducted a visit to the offices around 2 pm last Thursday, a disheartening scenario unfolded. People in the queue reported that, although five clients were called into the waiting area around 11 am, SASSA staff later announced that the office had already reached its daily target of 20 clients.

This left many clients, like Kwa-Thema resident Lebo Motsepe, frustrated and feeling neglected by the officials.
